David "Dave" C. Hanson, age 62, of Willmar, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 28, at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, at the Church of St. Mary. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
David Charles Hanson was born on January 13, 1963, in Willmar Minnesota, the second son born to Iris (Halliday) and Douglas Hanson. He grew up and received his education in Willmar, Minnesota, graduating from Willmar High School in 1981. On January 22, 1983 he was united in marriage to Lori Sundeen. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Amber and Ashley.
David worked at the Jennie-O plant in Willmar for over 20 years. He married Jackie Anderson on June 24, 1995, and this marriage was blessed with the birth of David’s youngest daughter, Brooke.
David worked at IPS in Litchfield until 2025. David enjoyed watching Minnesota Vikings football and was a movie lover, especially horror movies. He enjoyed a good murder mystery, loved listening to 80s music and enjoyed spending time with his dog Caesar. He loved being with his family and friends, especially his daughters and grandchildren.
David is survived by his three daughters, Amber (Manny) Jasso of Litchfield, Ashley (Bob) Guza of Litchfield and Brooke (Taylor) Willms of Willmar; eight grandchildren, Gabriel, Gracie, Hannah, Henry, Alaina, Paxton, Bennett and Camden; two brothers Steve (Rosanne) Hanson and Andrew Hanson; one sister, Kathleen (Kyle) Thomes and one stepsister, Cari Jo; many nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and friends.
David was proceeded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim.
