Darla Joann Zuroff, age 62, of Willmar, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, April 9. Memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, April 15, at the Assembly of God Church in Willmar. Interment will be at the Spicer City Cemetery. Visitation with no reviewal will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Darla was born on August 19, 1942, in Olivia, Minnesota, the daughter of Marvin and Lillian (Heacock) Sluka. She grew up in Willmar, attended the Willmar High School and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1960. On June 3, 1960, she was united in marriage to Marlow Zuroff. They lived in Spicer, St. Paul and moved to the Willmar area in 1996. Following her husband's death in 2001, she began working at the Dethlefs Senior Center in Spicer as the sight manager. Darla was a member of the Willmar Assembly of God Church and the Eagle's Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, cooking and being with her family, friends and dog, Sammy.
She is survived by a daughter, Jodi (and Paul) Lichliter of Mounds View; one granddaughter, Sara Lichliter of St. Cloud; mother, Lillian Sluka of Spicer; six siblings, Marvin "Butch" (and Donna) Sluka of Fairbanks, AK., Judy (and Dennis) Wallin of Atwater, Gary (and Robin) Sluka of Spicer, Ed (and Linda) Sluka of Spicer, Marcia (and Wilton) Paul of New London and Mary (and Corey) Zehnder of Savage, besides many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Marlow in 2001.
