Dale Alan Weflen

Dale Alan Weflen, age 60, of Sunburg, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 11, from an apparent heart attack

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Sunburg Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com

Dale was born on July 3, 1966, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Jerome and Eunice (Westrud) Weflen. He grew up in the Sunburg community, was baptized and confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church and graduated from KMS High School in 1984. Dale enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for six years stationed at Camp Ripley, Minnesota. Dale was married to Kristine Reigstad and was blessed with two sons, Jonathon and Mitchell. Dale was employed with Duininck Brothers Construction for almost 20 years with the pavement division. For the past 8 years, he has been employed with MN DOT as a Transportation Generalist. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing billiards and being with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

Dale is survived by his two sons, Jonathon (and Kimberley) Weflen of Horace, ND., and Mitchell (and Emily) Weflen of Montrose; six grandchildren, Charley, Harvey, Ellen, Marlan, Abel and Adelaide; and four siblings, Dennis (and Beverly) Weflen of Willmar, Loretta Hubin of Hector, LuAnn (and Gail) Schutte of Watertown and Lori (and Dale) Lyrek of Lester Prairie; besides many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, John Hubin.
