Constance “Connie” Ruth Hodapp was born on December 17, 1951, in Faribault, Minnesota, the daughter of Francis and Ruth (Dobes) Crosby.  She grew up in Kilkenny and Faribault, graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School in Faribault, and attended St. Catherine University in St. Paul.

On June 16, 1973, in Sauk Centre, Connie was united in marriage to Dr. Robert “Bob” E. Hodapp.  They lived in Minneapolis and Detroit Lakes before moving to Willmar in 1983.  Connie was employed for many years as a paraprofessional educator for the Willmar Public School District helping children learn to read. Following her retirement in 2015, she and Bob enjoyed spending their winters in the Seattle area to be near their daughters, son-in-laws, and grandbabies (human and canine).  She was a member of the Church of St. Mary and volunteered at the food bank on Vashon Island, Washington.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting, biking, and spending time on Green Lake. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and her many dear lifelong friends. She is remembered by those who loved her for being ever supportive to those experiencing hardship.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; two daughters, Julie (and Christopher) Hodapp Macaulay of Seattle and Lisa (and Jimmy) Hodapp-Balch of Seattle; two grandchildren, Georgia and Crosby Macaulay, and one sister, Susan Crosby (and life partner Stewart Smith) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
