Christopher M. Peterson, age 26, of Rochester and formerly of Willmar, died unexpectedly Friday morning, August 2, from injuries received in an automobile accident near Rochester.
A celebration of life service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Christopher was born on August 9, 1992 in Willmar, MN. He is the son of William Michael Peterson and Esther Linda Joy Peters. He lived in Grove City and attended ACGC until he moved to Butterfield, where he attended the Butterfield-Odin public school through the eleventh grade. Later, he received his GED and enrolled in the veterinary technician program at Ridgewater College in Willmar. He eventually moved to Rochester, where he attended college for business management.
Growing up, he enjoyed spending time with his sisters and cousin. Christopher will be remembered for his love of animals and family, his politeness, and intelligence. He always said please and thank you. He had such a kind and gentle soul and would never hurt anyone or anything. Chris was a strong individual who overcame many things in life, including Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (a rare heart condition).
He is survived by his father, William Peterson of Willmar; sister, Natasha Peterson of Willmar; brother, Nathan Johanneck of Glencoe; nieces and nephew, Haylee, Addison, Kyson and Brooklyn; grandparents, Donald and Pamela Schultz; great-grandparents, Kermit Peterson and Merliene Schultz; aunts and uncles, David Wilmes, Jenny and Roger Fuglsang, Alysia and Randy Alderman, Sarah and Kenny Rue, Shane Peterson, Rachel Peters Goldsby, Michael Peters, Isaac Peters, and many more family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Peters; sister, Shayla Peterson; great-grandparents, Virginia Peterson and Donald Schultz; and an aunt, Jenny Wilmes.
Chris is deeply loved and will be missed by many.
