Charles "Chuck" L. Olson, age 94, of rural New London, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 8, at his residence from an apparent heart attack.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 5, at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Interment will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery near Atwater. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.

Charles "Chuck" Lawrence Olson was born on November 12, 1929, in Meeker County, Minnesota, the son of Lawrence and Goldie (Daniels) Olson. He grew up in the Atwater community and graduated from Atwater High School in 1947 and then attended Ag School at Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. On November 18, 1950, Chuck was united in marriage to Marlys Joyce Isaacson. They made their home in St. Paul where Chuck was employed as a welder. In 1963, they moved to Atwater and he became engaged in farming. In 1984, they sold the farm and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. In 1995, they returned to Minnesota and built a home on Long Lake near Hawick. Chuck was self-employed as a handy man for many years. He enjoyed carpentry work and tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. Chuck cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his three children, Mike (and Gail) Olson of New London, Cynthia Olson of Streamwood, Illinois and Gary (and Jamie) Olson of Atwater; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Karen (and Leon) Bredeson of Atwater and his special friend, Ardy Thorp of Litchfield, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlys in 2019; two sisters, Doris and Ellen; two brothers, David and Daniel; and his parents.
