Cecelia Mary Larson, age 87, of Clara City, died Sunday morning, April 9th, at the Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 15th, at St. Clara's Catholic Church in Clara City. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Cecelia was born on September 2, 1918, in Clara City, MN., the daughter of Peter Sr. and Gertrude (Krommen) Thein. She grew up in the Clara City community and attended the St. Clara's Catholic School. In 1936, she graduated from high school at St. Benedict's and later attended beauty school in St. Paul. From 1940 through the early 1950's, she owned and operated Cecelia's Beauty Shoppe in downtown Clara City. On May 2, 1950, she was united in marriage to James R. Larson. Cecelia also worked with her husband at Larson's Market in Clara City. She was a long time member of St. Clara's Catholic Church. Cecelia enjoyed shopping, sight-seeing, playing the piano and other musical instruments, family reunions and spending time at the lake.
She is survived by her two children, Robert Larson of Clara City and Mary Lou (and Dale) Larson-Fine of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Daniel, Joseph, Rose and Sophie Larson-Fine; three brothers, Peter Jr. (and Donna) Thein of Cold Spring, Dennis (and Margie) Thein of Rochester and Stanley (and Velma) Thein of Clara City; and six sisters, Irene Weis of Willmar, Doris (and Walter) Ervin of Rochester, Mildred (and Lou) Branca of Rochester, Marie (and Richard) Barron of Rogers, Phyllis (and Joseph) O'Brien of Waconia and Barbara (and Robert) Lee of Minneapolis, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James in 1991; two brothers, Joseph and Leonard; and one sister in infancy, baby Marie.
