Carolyn Olson

Carolyn R. Olson, age 77, of Willmar, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

A public celebration of life service will be held at a later date following the COVID-19 pandemic.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Carolyn Ruth Olson was born on January 17, 1943, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Johnson) Guptill.  She grew up in Willmar, was baptized and confirmed at Vinje Lutheran Church, graduated from Willmar High School in 1961 and then attended college at the Minneapolis School of Business.  On September 25, 1965, Carolyn was united in marriage to Curtis LeRoy Olson and they made their home in Willmar.  She was employed for over 41 years as a librarian at the Willmar Public Library.  She was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church and the Minnesota Beta Master Sorority.  Carolyn enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading and spending time with her family, especially with her grandson, Nathan.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis of Willmar; one daughter, Wendy (and Rick) Norsten of Willmar; one grandson, Nathan; and two brothers, Alan Guptill and Barry (and Christine) Guptill, both of Park Rapids, besides other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters in infancy.
