Beverly Jean Winkelmann was born on March 10, 1938, in Olivia, Minnesota, the daughter of Theodore and Florence (Bevers) Kamrath. She grew up in Hector, was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and graduated from Hector High School in 1956. On July 16, 1961, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector, Beverly was united in marriage to Gerald Arnold Winkelmann. They made their home on a farm near Raymond and were blessed with two sons, Gene and Kevin.
Beverly was employed at the Hector School as a secretary to the principal, then as a bookkeeper at the Hector Creamery and Svea Coop Creamery and later was the Financial Secretary at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School and was also the Sunday school Superintendent. She was an officer in the Women's organization, served on the board at the Conference level, was Treasurer of the SW MN Synodical Women's Organization and chair of the Lakeland Conference Assembly. Beverly also served as the church secretary for over 27 years at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond.
Beverly cherished the opportunity to care for her three grandchildren. She loved to travel with Gerald. They made many memorable trips in their RV across the United States and Canada. During their retirement years, they enjoyed traveling on group tour trips throughout Europe and Asia as well as traveling for family reunions.
Beverly had a strong faith and loved serving her Lord throughout her lifetime. She will be best remembered for being very well organized, on time for everything, having a good sense of humor and always willing to help others in a time of need.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald; two sons, Gene (and Julie) Winkelmann and Kevin Winkelmann; three grandchildren, Damian, Lucas and Molly; and one sister-in-law, Arleen Kamrath, besides other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Shirley and Bernice; three brothers, Clifford, Clayton and Leroy; one brother-in-law, Luverne and two sisters-in-law, Carmen and Jean.
