Alma Isaacson

Alma A. Isaacson, age 97, of Willmar, died Wednesday evening, April 5th, at Infinia Health Care of Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Monday, April 10th, at the Tripolis Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Duane Semmler officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M., Sunday, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and at the church one hour prior to the services.
Alma Ananda Isaacson was born on April 13, 1908 near Rake, Iowa, the daughter of Anna (Jarshaw) and Edward Hove. She moved with her family in about 1918 to the Pennock area where they lived for a few years before moving to the Atwater area. Alma completed her schooling in Atwater and attended Atwater High School. On December 11, 1925 she was married to Oscar William Isaacson and they made their home in Minneapolis for a few years, were Oscar worked as a Street Car Conductor. They returned to the family farm, near Kandiyohi, in about 1938 and farmed until their retirement in 1961. In that same year they moved to Willmar and Alma went to work for the Bethesda Country Home in the Food Service Department. She later was employed at the Rice Memorial Hospital Food Department. She was a long time member of the Tripolis Evangelical Lutheran Church, member of the Tripolis Ladies Aide and the quilting group. Alma had been a 4-H Leader in the 50-60's, involved with the Home Extension, enjoyed crafts, gardening, rug weaving and baking.
Alma is survived by one daughter, Donna Miller of Pennock; four grandchildren, Laurie Miller of St. Paul, Tamara Miller of St. Paul, Joelle (and Matt) Karpen of St. Cloud and David (and Marlene) Isaacson of Owatonna. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Brianna Isaacson, Thomas Isaacson and Ian Karpen and one sister-in-law, Margaret Isaacson of St. Paul, besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Oscar in 1979), two sons (Donald in 1928 and Duaine in 1996), one granddaughter (Pam in 1996), one daughter-in-law (Katie in 1994), one son-in-law (Robert Miller in 2005), three brothers (Ervin Hove and two in infancy) and seven sisters (Hannah Knudson, Alice Hydeen, Eunice Millang, Alvina Herem, Inez Bartlett, Josie Hove and Bernice Sundberg).
