Alice Woltjer

July 28, 1926 — December 5, 2006

Alice E. Woltjer, age 80, of Willmar, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 5th, at her winter home in Orlando, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, December 11th, at the First Covenant Church with Rev. Daniel Johnson and Rev. Steven Zwart officiating. The interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M., Sunday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and at the church one hour prior to the services.
Alice Edith Woltjer was born on July 28, 1926, in Roseland, Minnesota, the daughter of Ann (Knoll) and John Theget. In 1948, she moved with her family to Willmar. On July 9, 1948, she was married to Alfred Woltjer at her parent's home in Willmar. They made their home in Pennock where they were engaged in farming. They attended the Salem Covenant Church and she was involved in the Women's Bible Study and other women's activities. After semi-retiring, they moved north of Willmar, to the Eagle Lake area, in 1976. Since 1990, they have spent their winters in Orlando, Florida. Alice enjoyed reading devotions, praying for her family, traveling, feeding the wildlife, flower gardening and canning food.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred of Willmar; six children, Ron (and Tai Jen) Woltjer of Sartell, Don Woltjer of Neosho, MO., (and Suz Skinner of Joplin, MO.), Rick (and Kim) Woltjer of Pennock, Dave (and Rena) Woltjer of Pueblo, Colorado, Dan Woltjer of Willmar and Mary (and Jim) Layman of Roseland; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Art (and Barb) Theget of Lake Placid, FL.; four sisters, Winifred Quam of Kandiyohi, Esther (and Walter) Davis of St. Paul, Clarice (and Lewis) Larson of Sunburg and Margaret (and Bill) Oakleaf of Willmar, and one sister-in-law, Delores Theget of Willmar, in addition to other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Elizabeth; one brother, Clifford; and one brother-in-law, Edward Quam.
