Vivian Blom

November 17, 1932 — August 23, 2020

Vivian Ruth Blom, age 87, of Willmar and formerly of Raymond, passed away Sunday afternoon, Aug. 23, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Raymond Christian Reformed Church.  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Raymond Christian Reformed Church are preferred.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in  Willmar.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Vivian Ruth Blom was born on November 17, 1932, on the family farm near Prinsburg, Minnesota, the daughter of Martin and Hilda (Hebrink) Kamstra.  She grew up and received her education in the Priam community.  On Sept. 29, 1950, Vivian was united in marriage to Elmer G. Blom and they made their home near Priam.  She worked hard as a homemaker and was a longtime member of the Raymond Christian Reformed Church.  Her hobbies included baking breads and pies, gardening and canning foods, crafts, needle point, ceramics and reading to her grandchildren.  Vivian will be remembered for her strong work ethic which she passed on to many others, her gentle spirit and proud Dutch heritage.

She is survived by two children, Larry (and Norma) Blom of Willmar and Sue (and Jon) Anderson of Roseville; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Also surviving is one brother, Clinton (and Linda) Kamstra of Willmar; three sisters, Jane Ronning, Florence Visser and Gloria Epema, all of Willmar; and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Kamstra of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer in 2006; two sons, Douglas and Myron; one grandson, Peter Anderson; one brother, Milton; one sister, Methilda; and four brothers-in-law, David Visser, Alvin Epema, Ronald Ronning and Robert Campbell.
