Travis Johnson

Travis Richard "Farmer" Johnson, age 37, of Willmar, died unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 18, at his home in Willmar from an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Overcomers International Fellowship, 529 16th Ave. N. in St Cloud, MN 56303 or the Willmar Area Food Shelf, 624 Pacific Ave. SW. in Willmar, MN 56201 are preferred. Travis Richard "Farmer" Johnson was born on March 23, 1979, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Dale R. and Pamela K. (Moje) Johnson. Travis was baptized at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in May 1979 and confirmed at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church in 1994. His baptism was reaffirmed in St. Cloud at the Mississippi River. He grew up in the Pennock community and graduated from Willmar High School in 1997 and was looking forward to his 20 year class reunion. Over the years, Travis was employed at Willmar Poultry Company, Cash Wise Foods and Donnerite Inc. He enjoyed camping, fishing and farming. He had a knack of fixing cars, tractors and bikes. He was involved with antique tractor pulls and demolition derbies, of which he won at the Kandiyohi County Fair.

He is survived by his mother, Pamela Johnson of Pennock; one brother, Ryan (and Nancy) Johnson of Willmar; four nieces, Isabelle, Cydney, Desiree` and Cami; seven great nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale on October 21, 2016; grandparents, Donald A. and Frieda M. Johnson and Erwin and Milli Moje and his step-grandfathers, Lawrence Miller and Herman Wannow. Blessed be his memory!

Following the service, lunch will be served at the Willmar Community Center at 624 Highway 71 North.

Travis was my step-nephew. My best memory of him was when he was a little kid,me ,him & Ryan would wrestle. But Travis idea of wrestling was running at me as fast as he could then slamming into me. Then getting up and doing it again. That was when he was 5yrs old or younger.
