Susan Johnsrud

Susan Jane Johnsrud, age 71, of Willmar and formerly of Kandiyohi, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 30, at her home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 24, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Covenant Church in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church, and a light lunch will be served after the service.

Sue was born on July 18, 1947, in Granite Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Selmer and Betty (Tebben) Johnsrud.  She grew up in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1965.  Susan attended nursing college and was employed as a LPN at Rice Memorial Hospital for many years.  She also owned and operated 2nd Hand Sue’s thrift stores in New London and Paynesville.  Susan was previously married to Myles Gulden.  She was a member of the First Covenant Church in Willmar.  Susan enjoyed antiques and spending time with her grandchildren.

Sue brought great joy to all who knew her. She was the kindest mother, grandmother and sister anyone could ever hope for, and she will be deeply missed. Rest with Jesus, Momique.

She is survived by her four sons, Cameron (and Krista) Gulden of Reno, NV, Cass (and Tonia) Gulden of Albany, CA, Jesse (and Lisa) Gulden of Willmar, and Graham Gulden of Atlanta, GA; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Jim (and Mary) Johnsrud of Dallas, TX; and her twin sister, Sally (and Dave) Nordby of Minneapolis, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

I so wanted to attend the service, especially to see the boys. I was their babysitter in the 70s. I doubt they remember me, but Ive never forgot them. They were the nicest, polite, loveable boys. Sue was a joy and I looked up to her so much. I have many cherished memories.
