Sandra Kardell

December 18, 1953 — January 2, 2018

Sandra Lee Kardell, age 64, of New London, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 2, at her residence in New London.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at the Svea Evangelical Lutheran Church in Svea. Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls at a later date. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Sandra Lee Kardell was born on December 18, 1953, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, the daughter of Ernest and Mildred (Beggs) Watson. She grew up in Minnesota and received her education in NE Minneapolis. On March 31, 1979, in Mounds View, Sandra was united in marriage to Randy Loren Kardell. They lived in NE Minneapolis and various other northern suburbs of the Twin Cities. In 1992, they moved to New London. Sandra worked hard as a homemaker. She was also employed as a bus aide at Peterson Bus Company where she received the "Top Bus Aide" award by the State of Minnesota for assisting special needs children. She enjoyed cooking, baking, scrapbooking, reading, dancing, listening to music and fishing. She also enjoyed traveling and motorcycling riding with her husband, especially to Sturgis, SD. Sandra loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sandra said, "It's always great to get together". Her passion in life was her family. Sandra was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a beloved sister and daughter. She was a generous soul who will be deeply missed by all.


She is survived by her husband, Randy of New London; four children, Adam (and Dina) Bush of Alexandria, Michelle Kardell of New London, Stephanie Kardell (and Jeremy Carlson) of Svea and Jonathan Kardell of New London; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Amber and Tanner Bush, Courtney Carlson and Steven Carlson and Astaisha Kardell and Tasha Kardell and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is her mother, Mildred Watson of Cambridge and three siblings, Jimmy (and Linda) Watson of New Brighton, Edith (and Brad) Foote of Mound and Julie Daher of Minneapolis, besides other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Watson and one brother, Terry Watson.
