He was raised by his step-fathers, LeRoy Vogt and Donald Bergstrom. After high school, Richard attended college and studied in the field of forestry and landscape agriculture. He has been employed in the construction business most of his life. Recently he was employed at Willmar Precast Company and O’Neil’s in Spicer as a line cook. Richard enjoyed art and was a talented tattoo artist. He also enjoyed card games and many outdoor activities like hiking, camping, kayaking and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Cheyeann (and Christopher) Nelson, Jamie Keehn, Jenna Keehn and Anthony Keehn; one sister, Wanda (and Roger) Moen; niece, Namira and nephew, Richard, besides other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda and his step-father, LeRoy Vogt.
It's hard to believe Richard is really gone. I've known Richard since i was a little girl, i remember visiting his house and playing with his child(ren). Richard gave my dad his first tattoo, heck he gave me my last tattoo. He was practically like an uncle to me. Then our families lost touch. I refound Richard when I (re)met Karissa. When we realized who each other was, it was like no time had passed. Richard, what I'm going to miss the most about you will be your laugh, you could hear it for miles. You always had a smile on your face and tried to keep everyone happy. You were a great dad an amazing friend. I'm going to miss you when we go kayaking. Playing Magic, the Gathering will never be the same without you. Rest easy Richard.
