Orville Klemenhagen, age 89, of Willmar, died Tuesday evening, July 14, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at the United Methodist Church in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Lake Lillian Community Cemetery at a later date. Military Honors will be provided by Austin F. Hanscom American Legion Post 167 of Willmar. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2334 in Willmar or Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1639 in Willmar. Funeral arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar (www.petersonbrothers.com).

Orville Klemenhagen was born in 1925 on the family farm in rural Olivia, the son of Emil and Sadie (Cornell) Klemenhagen. He grew up in the rural Olivia/Lake Lillian area and attended country school. Orville served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Korea, where he was a guard at the commanding general's private residence. In 1949, he married Adeline Haats and they lived and farmed in rural Lake Lillian. In 1990, they retired from farming and later moved to Willmar.

Orville was a member of the United Methodist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, V.F.W. and the American Legion. He loved dancing and enjoyed playing the organ. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going for countryside drives, and having coffee with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Adeline; two daughters, Diane (and Bruce) Behm of Plymouth and Laura (and Timm) Hauer of Lake Lillian; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Klemenhagen; six grandchildren, Ryan Schultz, Melissa (and John) Lloyd, Nicole Behm-Koep (and Kraig Koep), Brian Behm, Amanda (and Larry) Konsterlie, and Brandon Hauer (and fiancée, Andrea Schultz); nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Doris Klemenhagen; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dale Klemenhagen; a daughter, LuAnn Schultz; a brother, Clifford Klemenhagen; and a sister, Melvina Breska.
