Nathan Davidson

Nathan Davidson, age 50, of Spicer, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 11, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after suffering a heart attack.

A visitation celebrating Nathan's life will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar (www.petersonbrothers.com). Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Special Olympics Minnesota (https://specialolympicsminnesota.org/donate/).

Nathan Gary Davidson was born September 10, 1966, in Stillwater, Minnesota, the son of Byron and Beulah (Benson) Davidson. At a young age, his family moved to Willmar where he grew up and attended school, graduating from Willmar High School in 1986. He attended the Willmar Vo-Tech for welding. Nathan worked as a welder for Chappell Central for over 20 years and most recently for Hanson Silo.

Nathan had a passion for racing which began when he attended races with his dad in Bird Island at a young age. He enjoyed both driving and watching stock car races and demolition derbies and working with the pit crews. He was often seen at the KRA Speedway entertaining fans as the Pink Gorilla. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and backpacking with his family in the Big Horn Mountains. He had a big heart and would help his friends out however he could. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews. He loved his "little buddy", Fitz, who will miss their long walks and pick-up rides.

Nathan is survived by his sister, Nancy (and Steven) Oates of Savage; three brothers, Harry (and Colleen) Johnson of Maynard, Tim (and Karen) Johnson of Texas, and Kevin (and Sara) Johnson of Atwater; his stepfather, Weldon Larson of Willmar; two stepbrothers, Larry Larson of Becker and Michael Larson of Litchfield; his nieces and nephews, Jessica Johnson, Tanya Johnson, Rose (and Trevor) Solley, Scott (and Christina) Johnson , Lisa (and Shawn) Paulson, Nicole (and Reed) Franklin), Isaac (and Sara) Johnson, Alicia Johnson, Emily (and Phillip) Deisch, and Derek Oates; ten great-nieces and great-nephews; his special friend, Melanie Haukos-Bemis of Blomkest and her daughters, Nona and Tashia; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Byron Davidson; and his mother, Beulah Larson.

Floating on George Lake with Shilice Doty and friends. I remember when you slipped on those acorns on the hill and went tumbling down we laughed so hard I peed my pants. Love you Nate. May you Rest In Peace :skin-tone-2:

I remember being in ski club (10th grade?) and terrified to go down one of the bigger runs. Nate was at the top, saw me and said, "Follow me down!" He went in slow, big curves all the way down so I could get the hang of it! He was always willing to lend a helping hand :) Prayers to all of you for peace and comfort.Tiffany (Schueler) Brunner WHS '88
