Mary Moehring

October 1, 1938 — August 16, 2019

Mary Catherine (Tait) Moehring, age 80, of Taylors Falls and formerly of Blue Earth, Minnesota, died Friday morning, August 16, at Divine Rehabilitation & Nursing in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Kandiyohi.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Mary Catherine (Tait) Moehring was born on October 1, 1938, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Eleanor (Tolan) Tait.  She grew up near Kandiyohi, was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, attended country school near their family farm and graduated from Atwater High School in 1956.  In 1967, Mary was married to Harold E. Moehring and they made their home in Blue Earth.

Mary worked for a time at the U of M, the Blue Earth Medical Center, was a 1970 census taker, a legal secretary at Callaghan and Wendlund Law Offices, the Faribault County Sherriff's Department and finally retired after doing agriculture surveys for the USDA.  In 2010, Mary moved to Taylors Falls to be near her daughter.

Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed doing extensive work with family genealogy.  She was an active member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth and a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 89.

She is survived by her daughter, Katie (and Jerry) Carlson of Shafer; grandson, Andy (and Brittney) Holland of East Bethel; brother, Jack (and Ruth) Tait of Bracketville, TX., sister, Peggy (and Tom) Condon of Clara City; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Erichsrud of Blue Earth; brother-in-law, George (and Sally) Moehring of Hutchinson, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold in 2006; an infant brother, James; and in-laws, George and Mable Moehring.
