Luella Oletta Carlson was born on September 17,1924, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole Albert and Lillian Elizabeth (Anderson) Jacobson.  She grew up in Crow River, Minnesota where her father owned and operated a general store.

Luella attended school in Grove City, Minnesota graduating from high school in 1942.  She was employed at the family's store in Crow River until her fiancé, Willard Marlow Carlson, returned from service in WWII.  The couple was married on June 18, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Grove City.  Luella had become a Christian at the age of 17 and she and her husband were baptized together in July of 1946.

Luella and Willard made their home in Grove City where they owned and operated Carlson Meats. Willard passed away in 1983.  She continued to live and work in Grove City until 2006 when she moved to Willmar and became a member of The Refuge church.  Until recent years she was very active in Bible studies, the quilting group, missions committee and being of service wherever she could.  She definitely had the gift of hospitality and loved to cook and bake for others.  She especially loved to make her grandchildrens' favorite treats.  She was an amazing grandma!

Luella had a tremendously strong faith and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Her legacy to her family is that she was truly a fervent Prayer Warrior.

She is survived by her two sons, Charles "Chuck" (and Kristin) Carlson of Grove City  and Jack (and Sue) Carlson of Olivia; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.

She was  preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Clifford Jacobson.
