Kenneth Oveson
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 14, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Kandiyohi. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Kandiyohi Fire Department are preferred.
Kenneth Leroy Oveson was born on March 4, 1932, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Otto and Zella (Welch) Oveson. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1952. On April 20, 1956, Kenneth was united in marriage to Barbara C. Weyer and they made their home in Kandiyohi. He was employed as a Milkman for Central Dairy for many years and then was employed at the GTA Feed Company. Most recently Kenneth was employed as the custodian at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. His hobbies included woodworking, hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed attending auction sales.
He is survived by his wife, Barb of Kandiyohi; four children, Kathy (and Michael) Neuharth of Snow Flake, AZ., Kenneth Oveson Jr. (and special friend, Ann Fleck) of Willmar, Karen Hood of Belgrade and Kay Oveson of Willmar; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Thelma Bengtson of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Olive Ritz and one grandson-in-law, Adam Sasse.

So many memories from my childhood are wrapped up with your family. I remember Ken Sr being such a good sport bringing us to the beach and going camping with you all at Diamond Lake. I also remember when Karen was croqueting and he would always bring her yarn. Easy going, caring man. Sorry I won't be able to get to the funeral. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
