My Sympathy

In 1973 I met John at a meeting to organize a slow pitch softball team called the Willmar Merchants. This started a friendship that lasted till his passing last Wednesday. John and I were like two peas in pod back then. Joyce and I also enjoyed time spent with John and Pat as good friends. I was also became Annie Godfather. John and I played softball, basketball, volleyball, flag football, racquetball, and bowling. This lasted almost 20 years when I then retired from all those sports but John I know continued. He was quite the athlete more then I was. We grew apart somewhat for some years but always continue in our friendship. When John started golfing I joined him a few times. I developed a traveling golf group and a few years ago ask John to join us. He was accepted in to group very easily even with his health problems he was hard to beat on the links. My group became the Schamblers and nicknames were given. Johns was Clutch, because he always came through when needed. Our whole group is sadden by the lost our, as we called him our hero!!! This was because of his guts to keep up golfing. He will be missed in life and on the links next summer. RIP Little John/Clutch From your Bud Rolf/Sonny/Slippery that last nickname I have now with the Schamblers. Dont ask.
