July 19, 1944 ~ February 8, 2015 (age 70)
John M. Panasuk, age 70, of rural New London, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 8, at his residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14, at the Church of Our Lady of the Lakes in Spicer. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Henderson-Lewis American Legion Post #545 of Spicer and the Minnesota Patriot Guard. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 13, at the church and one hour prior to the service. John Martin Panasuk was born July 19, 1944 in Norwalk, Connecticut, the son of John and Muriel Panasuk. He grew up and graduated from high school in Connecticut. He then served in the U.S. Air Force stateside during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his discharge, he attended the Culinary Institute of America in New York. On June 21, 1969, he married Nancy Helen Rahm and they made their home in Hamden, CT. In 1971, they moved to Denver, CO, in 1987 to Alexandria, MN, and in 1992 to New London, MN. John enjoyed riding motorcycle, fishing and being outdoors.

He is survived by his children, Ron (and Sharon) Panasuk of Fridley and Katherine Panasuk of New London; two grandchildren, Benjamin Panasuk and Corwin Panasuk; and a sister, Pat Panasuk of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his fiancée, Joyce Sammon of Faribault; Joyce's children, Michelle (and Tim) Wilson and Ben (and Kacy) Sammon; and her grandchildren, Hailey Wilson and Ian Sammon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy in 2005; and two children, Amber Panasuk and Patrick Panasuk.
