Jennifer Norine

Jennifer Dawn Witte Norine, age 44, of Minneapolis, formerly of Atwater, died Monday, November 19, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.  Jen's faith, love, and strength carried her through her many year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 23, at St. John Lutheran Church in Atwater.  Interment will be at Union cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home.

Jennifer Dawn Witte Norine was born on April 19, 1974, in Litchfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Donald and Pamela (Bartels) Witte.  She grew up in Atwater, was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, and graduated from Atwater-Grove City  High School in 1992.  She then attended Concordia University in St. Paul and graduated with a degree in Education in 1996.  Jennifer began her teaching career at Gethsemane Lutheran School in Maplewood, as a junior high science teacher and volleyball coach.  She taught science at the Farmington Middle School and was the head varsity volleyball coach.  She later taught science  at Battle Creek Middle School in St. Paul.  On April 4, 2008, she married Josh Norine in Bali, Indonesia and they made their home in Minneapolis.  Jennifer most recently worked with Josh at Total Health Care and Physical Medicine.

Jennifer loved playing and coaching volleyball and beach volleyball.  She also enjoyed cooking, running, being outdoors, and traveling the world with Josh.  Jennifer’s love and compassion has brought unmeasurable joy and happiness to her marriage with Josh.  She will forever be in his heart and soul.

She is survived by her husband: Dr. Josh Norine of Minneapolis; her mother: Pamela Witte of Waconia; a sister: Janell (and Mike) Larson of Victoria; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jon and Barb Norine of Castle Danger; a sister-in-law: Niki (and Bill) DeArmond of Bozeman, MT;  nephew: Owen Larson; nephew and godson: Brayden DeArmond; two nieces: Aisley Larson and Dani DeArmond; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father: Donald Witte in 2007; and her grandparents.
