Jeanette Seehusen was born September 16, 1923 the daughter of Raymond and Rena (Bruns) Sietsema at home near Raymond, Minnesota.   At a young age she moved with her parents and family to a farm northeast of Sacred Heart in Ericson township.  She spent her school years going to a country school, District 131, Sacred Heart.  After completing the eighth grade she stayed home to help out with the farm and her siblings. On November 6, 1941 she was united in marriage to Anton G. Seehusen at her parents home. Together they farmed north of Danube for several years before moving to a farm north of Sacred Heart where they farmed until Anton's death in June 1967. At this time she moved to Sacred Heart and was employed as a school cook for 23 years, retiring in 1991.  In 1995 she moved to Willmar.  She thoroughly enjoyed her coffee parties with the neighbor ladies, volunteering at church, and following her grandchildren's activities.  She was affectionately known as "Ma See".  She touched many lives, especially in her years as a school cook.  She was a woman of strong faith which provided her comfort in her later years.

Jeanette is survived by her son Galen (Kris) Seehusen of Willmar, two grandchildren, Katie (Ben) Darval of Rochester, Matthew (Megan) Seehusen of Rochester and one great-grandchild, Hunter. Also surviving is one brother, John D. (Sharon) Sietsema and five sisters; Dorothy Andresen of Clara City, Joanne Hegge of Sacred Heart, Mattie (Gary) Enger of Watertown, South Dakota, Jurena Seehusen of Olivia, Tillie Kieffer of Tempe, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant daughter Pamela Jean, two brothers, Donald and Vernon Sietsema and one sister, Verbena Werner.

Thanks Laurie. Mom and Cy were very close friends. They were wonderful ladies. They enjoyed each other's company and conversation while having coffee and working on puzzles etc. Thank you so much!

I am so sorry to hear that Jeanette passed away. She & my mom (Cy Effertz) became very close friends while living in Assisted Living. When my mom moved in with me they still kept in contact by phone. I know that their friendship was very special to my mom. Again I send your family my sympathy. Laurie Torkelson

Galen and Kris, we were so sorry to hear of Jeannette's passing. Due to a prior commitment we can't be with you on Thursday but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Take comfort in the knowledge that your Mom had a long life and touched many young people while working at school. What a strong woman she must have been! All our love, Curt and Deb
