As I have read these comments, I can't help but think how much alike he was to Al, my brother, his cousin, who passed away of a major heart attack just about a year ago this week. Such a caring, kind person who left us too soon.

Galen pulled my car out of the ditch after the 1990 Halloween blizzard. I did not have enough cash on me so he said that was good enough. He was such a kind soul!

I know Galen when I lived in Grove City. I went to Atwater to have him fix my car. He bought our Mobile home when we had a house moved in. He was a very nice person. My condolences to his family.Linda Alexander Holmgren

When we lived in Atwater, Galen was a good friend. Always willing to help someone in need, whether that be a car problem or even an extra beer to share. He was a good soul, and will be missed by all who knew him. A special hug to his brother Leland and son Joey. Your family has been through enough! My thoughts and prayers go out to you all! Much love and respect; Corinne Fader & family

I don't know where to start, breaks my heart...I have so many happy & fun memories with Galen, Leland, Neil and Ken. Lots of laughter and sometimes tears from laughing too hard! Never "rode the bus" until that day @ Galen's..... Galen was such a great friend. I would hear his Jeep coming down the road, either going to or from the Turkey barns. I would listen to hear if it was slowing down and 9 times out of 10 it did and he would stop in, even if it was just to drive around the circle and say "Howdy! Gotta go!" and continue on his way! He was always concerned how people were and would ask "You OK?" I'd ask him back "You OK?" and then that infectious laugh would start and that was all it took and then nobody could stop laughing! But, he was seriously concerned how people were and always tried to make things better even if they were ok. He wanted things better than ok! He had such a huge and amazing heart. I could write a novel of all the fun times. We had our share of serious talks too but there was so much laughter. You were a man like no other Galen and you made such an impact on all who knew you. You are missed and loved by so many!! God Bless You, your family and friends....Love to you all....
