Frederick "Fred" Durante

Frederick "Fred" Durante, age 56, of Willmar, passed away Wednesday morning, May 19, at his residence in Willmar from natural causes.

A visitation to celebrate Fred's life will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Frederick Durante Jr. was born in Perris, California, on July 31, 1964, the son of Glorietta and Phillip Olson.  In 1972, Fred moved to Willmar, Minnesota.  He attended the Willmar public schools and Willmar Vo-tech before enlisting and serving in the US Army.  After his honorable discharge from the Army, Fred married and had two children and worked as a machinist, residing in Minnetonka. Fred adored his daughters more than anything.  They were his life.  He loved the outdoors, fishing and watching sports and being with family and friends. Fred will always be remembered for his handy creative craftsmanship.

He is survived by his two daughters, Monica Durante and Brittany Durante, both of Elyria, Ohio; two grandchildren; his parents, Gloria and Phillip; three siblings, JoAnn (and Mike) Whelan of Willmar, Jenny Phillips of St. Cloud and Louie Durante of Willmar; besides several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Rick Durante in 2016, and both his paternal and maternal grandparents.
