Evelyn Beckmann

November 2, 1934 ~ April 17, 2017 (age 82)

Evelyn M. Beckmann, age 82, of Clara City and formerly of Raymond, died Monday, April 17, at the Clara City Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21, at the United Methodist Church in Raymond. Interment will be at Bethany Reformed Cemetery in Clara City. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at the United Methodist Church in Raymond and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Evelyn Marie Beckmann was born on November 2, 1934, in Leader, Minnesota, the daughter of Malvin and Frances (Warmuth) DeGeest. In 1944, she moved south of Atwater, near Rosendale and attended district #50 school. She was confirmed at the Rosendale United Methodist Church. On July 21, 1956, Evelyn was united in marriage to Harold L. Beckmann and they made their home in Lone Tree Township near Raymond. Evelyn was employed for over 26 years at the Clara City Nursing Home as a CNA. She was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer for the American Red Cross area blood drives. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, watching the birds and her cats, visiting people and having coffee with friends.

She is survived by her four children, Theresa (and Rick) Wallace of Raymond, Timothy Beckmann (and Kristin Cadwell) of Dawson, Tina Beckmann of Willmar and Troy Beckmann of Motley; six grandchildren, Heidi (and Kurt) Olson of Blomkest, Erick (and Shari) Wallace of Alexandria, Christina (and Nick) Marcus of Richmond, Jessica Beckmann of Superior, WI., Joseph Beckmann of Willmar and Alissa Beckmann of Dawson; seven great grandchildren, Danika, Kenner and Abriah Olson, Ellie, Hayden and Braevyn Wallace and Amanda Cadwell; and four siblings, Melvin (and Marcella) DeGeest of Bloomington, Sue (and Irenus) Finn of Atkin, Leslie (and Ronnie) DeGeest of Weatherford, TX., and Kathy DeGeest of Clara City, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold in 2007.
