Eloise Olson

Eloise G. Olson, age 92, of Atwater, died Saturday, May 10, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, at the United Methodist Church in Atwater. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service. www.petersonbrothers.com

Eloise Geraldine Olson was born on April 7, 1922, in Lake Elizabeth Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the daughter of Archie and Ellen (Hallberg) Oslund. She grew up in the rural Atwater community and graduated from Atwater High School in 1940. On August 5, 1944, Eloise was united in marriage to Reinhardt A. Olson and they made their home in Atwater. Eloise was employed for over 16 years at ACMC as an insurance clerk. She was a member of the Atwater United Methodist Church where she served for many years as the Sunday School superintendent and teacher, trustee, church council, church ladies aide and pastoral parish relations committee. She also served on the Atwater Community Ed advisory council and the Atwater Block Nurse Program as secretary and board of directors.

She is survived by her two sons, Dale (and Nancy) Olson of Belgrade and Bruce Olson of Atwater; three grandchildren, Melanie (and Bob) Dingmann of Belgrade, Chad Hoepner of Morristown and Trina (and Pete) Hager of Woodville, WI., four great-grandchildren, Damian, Erin and Devin Hoepner and Dawson Hager and one great-great-granddaughter, Savannah Hoepner. Also surviving is one sister, Ruth Johnson of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reinhardt in 1987; two half-sisters, Harriet Norris and Mildred Meisenbach; one half-brother, Milton Johnson; one granddaughter-in-law, Edye Hoepner and one grandson-in-law, Clyde Henry.
