Donald Fischer

Donald Richard Fischer was born on July 7, 1940 on the family farm in Woods Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota, the son of Eleanor Ione (Sarazin) and Elso Heinrich Fischer. The family moved several times and they lived in the Benson, Kerkhoven, Eagle Lake areas before moving to Willmar. Don completed his education here and graduated from Willmar High School in 1957. On February 4, 1966 at the Bunde Christian Reformed Church, he was married to Mary Anna Wubben. They moved to Rochester and Don worked at the Rochester State Hospital in Janitorial Services and later at the Mayo Clinic. They returned to the Willmar area in 1977 and he worked for Service Master, Kandiyohi County Court House and retired from the Sugar Beet Plant in Renville. After his retirement he worked part time in Janitorial Services at the Willmar Public Schools. Don enjoyed fishing, drawing, doing puzzles in the paper and being a jokester. He loved his family and being with them and he loved his faith and the sharing of it with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Willmar, three children; Michael Fischer of San Diego, California, April (and Joseph) Lindstedt of Portland, Oregon, and Mark (and Sherri) Fischer of Cape Coral, Florida, five grandchildren; Veanessa Lindstedt, Bryann Lindstedt, Kyle Fischer, Mason Fischer and Josette Lindstedt and 2 great grandchildren; Marissa Perkins and Madison Packham. Also surviving are four sisters; Gloria (and Herb) Baumann of Willmar, Debbie (and Paul) Trubel of Kerkhoven, Nancy Christianson of Willmar and Maxine Camp of Kerkhoven, besides other relatives and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brother; Harold and Elroy Fischer
