Dale Richard Nurnberg was born on August 8, 1934, in Forestburg, South Dakota, the son of Richard and Julia (Thompson) Nurnberg.

He grew up and received his education in Forestburg community.  At the age of 14, Dale began operating the family farm.  On September 6, 1955, Dale was united in marriage to Diane Honey at the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji.  In 1960, they moved to Blackduck where he logged, farmed, worked at the Holiday gas station and the U.S. Forest Service.  In 1966, they moved to Spicer when Dale began employment for MN DOT as a serviceman, sign worker and sign supervisor until his retirement in 1995.  He was a member of the Green Lake Free Lutheran Church.

Dale was a jack-of-all trades.  He and Diane enjoyed traveling in their motor home, especially to tractor shows.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping.  Dale will be best remembered for being a great teacher and story teller.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Diane of Spicer; three children, Bonnie (and Philip) Ask of Morris, Allen (and Sheri) Nurnberg of Goodhue and Chad (and Heidi) Nurnberg of Belgrade; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
