Dale Wilton Bomstad was born on May 27, 1933, in Harrison Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, near Atwater, the son of Alice (Sundin) and Donald Bomstad. Dale received his education in the Lake Lillian and Mora area country schools, after which time he returned to the Atwater area and worked for different farmers.
