Barb Ellingboe

February 25, 1957 — June 9, 2018

Barb Ellingboe, age 61, of Kandiyohi, died Saturday evening, June 9, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter or the Rice Health Foundation. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home, www.petersonbrothers.com.

Barbara Ann Ellingboe was born February 25, 1957, in Harvey, Illinois, to Robert and Jeanne (Estes) Hawes. She grew up in Homewood, Illinois and spent her summers on Green Lake. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College. On December 6, 1984, Barb married Steven B. Ellingboe in Milbank, South Dakota and they made their home in Kandiyohi. Barb worked as a Russian translator and later in office work, most recently at Designed Environments in Willmar. Barb was active in volunteering and loved reading mysteries.

Barb is survived by her husband, Steve; her best friend and chosen sister, Margo (and Mark); beloved cousin, Jill (and Win); brother-in-law, Larry; her nieces, nephews, and cousins; her Green Lake family; and the GAC girls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Susan.
