Nola Gayle (Amundson) Brinton

October 27, 1934 ~ February 24, 2019 (age 84)


              Nola G. Brinton, age 84, of Spicer,  died Sunday morning, February 24, at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, at Peace Lutheran Church in New London.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at The Elk's Lodge in Willmar.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Peace Lutheran Church or the Elk's Lodge building fund are preferred.  Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer.  


Nola Gayle Brinton was born on October 27, 1934, in Ellsworth, Iowa, the daughter of Roaul and Naomi (Blair) Amundson. She grew up in Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School. On October 19, 1951, Nola was united in marriage to Gene Brinton. They moved to Willmar in 1968 and in 1974 established Brinton Veterinary Solutions, retiring in 2002.   Nola was a former member of Vinje Church and was active in the Women’s Circle.  Following their move to the New London-Spicer community, they joined Peace Lutheran Church in New London.  Her hobbies included fishing, camping, gardening, oil painting, and traveling. Nola cherished spending time with her family and friends.  Nola was a loving virtuous wife, caring, adoring mother and grandmother.  And she so enjoyed her great-grandchildren.  She will surely be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her.   Proverbs 12-4:  A virtuous woman is crown to her husband.


She is survived by her husband, Gene Brinton of Spicer; daughter, Jackie (Frank) Mourning of New London; five grandchildren, Alyssa Mourning Thompson, McArthur Brinton Mourning, Skyler Amundson Mourning, Alexander Marshall Brinton and Amanda Jane Brinton; and eight great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kim in 2016, and a brother, Richard Amundson.
