Mayvis Elaine Olson, age 89, of Willmar, died Tuesday, November 6, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar.
A private family service will be held. Interment will be at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in Willmar. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Mayvis Elaine Olson was born June 13, 1929 in Pendleton, Oregon, the daughter of Arthur and Lucille (Strickland) Nelson. Her family moved to the Milner, North Dakota area and she attended country school near Sydney in Sergeant County, North Dakota. On November 13, 1946, she married Clifford Olson and they made their home in North Dakota and Minnesota. In 1957, they moved to Pennock and in 1972, into Willmar. They owned and operated Olson's antiques and were licensed antique appraisers. They were also founders of the North Dakota Pottery Association.
Mayvis is survived by three children: Sharon Olson of Willmar, Jerry Olson of Willmar, and Eileen (and Richard) VanHeuveln of Fridley; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Clifford in 2010; one sister: Marilyn Lowe; and a great-grandson: Roman.
