Iola Broin, age 85, of Willmar, died unexpectedly on Saturday evening, June 8, at her home in Willmar.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.
Iola Mae Broin was born May 29, 1934 in Tyler, Minnesota, the daughter of Jens and Doris (Hokins) North. She grew up and attended school in the Ruthton/Russel area. On September 7, 1970, she married Stanley Broin and they made their home in Willmar. She worked refinishing furniture and many remembered her from the pharmacy at Thrifty White Drug. After her retirement, she worked part-time at Compassionate Care and volunteered at the New 2 You Thrift Store/ White Cross/Joy Singers.
She currently attended the Willmar Bible Church. She enjoyed watching TBN and Jimmy Swaggart. She also enjoyed traveling and visited Arizona, Norway and Branson with Stanley . After Stan passed she went on several bus tours. She had a gift for interior design and always had a new project to redecorate her home. Her love of God was a priority in her life, followed by her love and devotion to her family.
She is survived by her children: Bonnie Wrobleski, Gordon (and Rita) Goodmund, Gary Goodmund, Kari (and Grant) Ross, Becky Ernst, and Beatta Schultz; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother: Mel (and Mollie) North; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley in 2000; several siblings; and other relatives.
