Elizabeth Wroot

Elizabeth "Betty" Wroot, age 95, of Willmar, died Sunday morning, February 1, at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, with a 6:30 p.m. Daughters of Isabella Rosary at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Elizabeth Marie Wroot was born January 23, 1920, Donnelly, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Nina (Henrichs) Wroot. She grew up and attended grade school in Donnelly and later attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Morris. She began working for her uncle as a clerk at Ted Mann's Store in Donnelly. She later worked as a bank clerk at Farmers and Merchants State Bank and then for 12 years at the Donnelly Co-Op Creamery. In 1970, she moved to Willmar and was employed as a bookkeeper for Northern States Supply for 12 years, retiring in 1982. She was a devoted caregiver for her mother, step-father, half-sister and several friends for many years. Betty was a member of the Church of St. Mary, where she was active with the Daughters of Isabella, the funeral serving group and assisted with the church mailings.

She is survived by her nephew, Dave (and Fran) Oestreich of Willmar and their children, Josh and Sara; besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, John Beissel; her sister, Dorothy Oestreich; and her half-sister, Rosalie Beissel.
