Dorraine Grammentz

Dorraine Grammentz, age 79, of Willmar, died Sunday morning, September 20, at Bethesda Heritage Center Nursing Home in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, September 26, at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Vinje Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar (www.petersonbrothers.com).

Dorraine Leone Grammentz was born February 23, 1936, in Cyrus, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Maethilda (Bly) Maanum. She grew up in the rural Starbuck area and graduated from Starbuck High School. On February 5, 1957, she married Olando "Ole" Grammentz in Webster, South Dakota. They later moved to Willmar, where Ole worked for Willmar Sheet Metal and Dorraine as a housewife, raising their children. Dorraine was an active member of Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar.

She is survived by three children, Jerome (and Marleen) of Elkton, MI; Joni (and John) Martinson of Burnsville, and Karen (and Garry) Buschel of Willmar; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Maanum of New Hope and Devon Banister of Starbuck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ole in 2005; a daughter, Jean Grammentz in 1964; two brothers, Vernon and Marvin; and two sisters, Clarice and Elaine.
