Alice Gorman

January 8, 1922 — December 4, 2014

Alice D. Gorman, age 92, of Willmar, died Thursday, December 4, at Lake Minnetonka Shores in Spring Park.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Alice D. Gorman was born on January 8, 1922, near Elbow Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Oscar and Agnes (Fjeld) Anderson. She attended District #44 country school and graduated from Barrett High School in 1940. On August 25, 1945, Alice was married to J. Malcolm Baird and they made their home in Mound, Minnesota. Malcolm died in August of 1965. On October 9, 1966, Alice was united in marriage to William H. "Bill" Gorman. They lived in Mound and rural Barrett before moving to Willmar in 1984. Alice was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and served on numerous committees, including the altar guild and quilting club. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, especially the many apple pies she gave to others. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bill.
She is survived by four children, Jerald (and Debbie) Baird of Watertown, MN, Ronald (and Sheri) Baird of Watertown, MN, Robert (and Sylvia) Baird of Litchfield, MN, and Katherine (and Michael) Berg of Brooklyn Park, MN; five stepchildren, Robert (and Carolyn) Gorman of Reeseville, WI, George Gorman of Montrose, MN, Virginia Wederath of Robbinsdale, MN, Elaine Rice of Plymouth, MN, and Kathleen Bascetta (and John Szolonki) of Hartsdale, NY; eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell (and Alice) Anderson of Fergus Falls, MN; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, J. Malcolm Baird in 1965 and William Gorman in 2005; three brothers, Lawrence Anderson, Willard Anderson, and Orville Anderson; and one sister, Doris Frykman.
