Alec Stands

Alec J. Stands, age 41, of New Ulm and formerly of Willmar, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, January 22, in New Ulm.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. www.petersonbrothers.com

Alec John Stands was born on August 18, 1973, in Sioux Falls, SD., the son of Robert and Sharon (Noteboom) Sanderville. He grew up and received his education in the Willmar community. Alec lived in Willmar, Detroit Lakes, Fargo, Springfield and New Ulm. He was employed in the construction business with his brother, Owen. Alec enjoyed sports, music, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by one son, Cesar Flores of Willmar and two grandsons, Mason and Adrian. Also surviving is his father, Robert Sanderville of Springfield and five siblings, Sheila (and Arlnufo) Carpentier of Hebbronville, TX., Stanley LeBeau of Butte, MT., Samone Espinoza of Detroit Lakes, Melissa Stands of Pelican Rapids and Owen Stands of New Ulm, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Sharon in 1995 and one aunt, Barbara Horstman.
